Walkin’ And Talkin’ (aka Talkin’ ‘Bout You)

Album 1949 - 1956 Way

Ray dated the recording in 1947. The Miami-based music business veteran Henry Stone has claimed several times that he recorded and released the tune in 1950 or 1951, together with St. Pete’s BluesWhy Did You Go, and I’m Wonderin’ And Wonderin’. The verdict, for now, is that the tune was recorded in Miami (?), in 1951. Ray Charles – voc, p; possibly Gosady McKee – g; Otto McQueen – b; Manzy Harris – ds.
On January 3, 1953 Billboard mentioned that Stone’s release was “doing well on jukes”:

From Billboard, January 3, 1953.

The tune was sampled in Chris Diodatis’ Walkin’ And Talkin’ (Nervous Records, 2005), scoring #24 on the Billboard Dance chart.
